Sniff and Snuffle

One of a great ways to keep your dog occupied is through the use of a snuffle mat. Snuffle mats are designed to let you hide small treats within them.

Your dog can smell the treats but needs to snuffle around and in the mat to find the treats.

This kind of game is an important stimulation for your dog and helps keep them occupied while using their all important senses.

We have sourced this handmade snuffle mat which is excellent at doing just that.

The mat simulates the feeling of grass with it’s long strands and encourages foraging and can keep your dog stimulated for a longer period of time than simply giving them kibble in a bowl.

Bailey really enjoys a good rummage around the mat.

We use small kibble and distribute it around the mat for a nice stimulating and rewarding activity.

This handmade mat is 18” x 12” and is very easy to clean being fully machine washable.

A small word of warning though. This mat is not designed to withstand rough tearing, so if your pawfect pal is pre-disposed towards that kind of behaviour, (our Bailey is), then we would recommend very strongly that you do not leave them unattended with this mat as it’s highly likely they would do some damage to it.

If you want to offer a chew treat instead of a snuffle mat, then we would highly recommend our Yak chews which are built to withstand a LOT of chewing while giving a nice treat at the same time.
